Dr. Clowe is most likely Garret M. Clowe, a medical doctor born in 1890 who lived on Union Street in Schenectady with his family in 1920. His father was also a physician. It's not clear whether or not he was a relative. I haven't found a connection yet.

Stanford the pool shark! What sport will he conquer next? But I just can't get over the basketball scores of those days. (Shaking my head.)

Stanford has started adding little drawings to his diary entries so instead of describing them I've decided to copy and paste them. More are coming in later entries.

I'm still assuming that "Anthony" is Gertrude Anthony, but it seems strange for him to refer to a girl by her last name. Maybe there was a male Anthony?

How could a day be both beautiful and nasty? Interesting contradiction in terms.

Aha! Now we know who lived at 838 Ostrom. Turns out they are Mark A. Thompson, his wife Edith and their son Edward, who was about 10 years old in 1920. Mark was a coal salesman.

And here is a picture of the stereopticon which many of you are no doubt familiar with:

Wonder what the lecture was about?

**********
I guess every year at this time the Student Volunteers have their conference. Stanford must be a delegate. Last year he was sick so couldn't participate in that.

I believe Stanford likes Dollar Days so he can shop for bargains. I guess John comes by it honest.

I wonder why Stanford is spending so much time at the dentist's?  Couldn't find out who John Roberts was; not knowing his approximate age is a handicap.

I see the Clossons had a phone! I wonder if it was expensive to own?

**********
I guess the whole group stayed overnight at Stanford's house. That must have been interesting! Did they know they were staying over and so bring their Sunday clothes with them, I wonder? And who was Dorothea's aunt?
