Most marvelous, bright mild clear day. Arose 6 A.M. To work at U.S.A.R.D.A.S.S.N.Y. 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Mother, Father, Ruth and I to Swaggertown to work on farm. Picked bushel of strawberries, Hilled potatoes etc. To bed 11 P.M. Thankful for health, strength, friends, education.

Is Swaggertown where their farm is? Hmmmm . . .

I'm not sure what all the letters signify, but I think he's making a joke with his abbreviation. The ASSNY is probably "at South Schenectady NY."
